Well today sees the first one of these blogs created. I have been told that blogs/posts such as these encourages one to calm down and see things under a different light - after writing things down it is true that often things do look a little differently.
Firstly I would like to dedicate a sentence to Calum whos blogs I have been reading with interest over the past few months as he reveals his insight in to a world controlled by greed, power and corruption. Sillitoe would be proud! :-)
Today sees a vote of no confidence in Andrew Lansley by nurses; some of which voted his Government in to power. It is a shame that people who vote you in to power Lansley et al are feeling the need to do such actions but I really do feel that giving GPs such a huge power of responsibility for the way how the NHS is run and how the budget is spent is a disaster waiting to happen. I've had a lot of contact with my GP over the past few months and feel that their time is, naturally, best spent dealing with patients. Power to the nurses! (No this does not mean I am opposed to the Conservatives, nor the coalition, but I do believe in the nurses cause)
I am what is known as a bus enthusiast, but I am also a man who holds his values very close to his heart. I do not go out of my way to annoy other enthusiasts but feel that they make life hard for themselves. Recently I was walking through Nottingham which can be an incredibly congested place at the best of times, but this time I though an enthusiast was standing in the middle of a two way road to get a photo of something which we call a 'rare' sighting. It makes me realise how much I prefer to 'get out of town' to other destinations to photograph such things. A word from the wise; take care.
This month marks the 7th year of bus photography for me, so it should be the end of my bad luck? I don't know, I feel that the generation of which my age grew up is rapidly becoming that of a 'lost generation' it is true that it has not been this hard to find work since WWII ended. Of course the naturally most sensible thing to do is to axe the 'Future Jobs Fund' isn't it? Well yes if what happens works
A spokeswoman for the Department for Work and Pensions said: "The Future Jobs Fund is expensive and the Government believes that its increased apprenticeships programme is a much better way of getting young people into sustainable employment. Unemployed young people will get high quality support through the work programme which will be available nationwide by next summer.
Least we can 'afford' the Royal Wedding though, that's another story..!
This all got me thinking, if what this Government achieves is successful then it'll become legends in its own making. If it fails, then we're all screwed! :-)
In other news it's good to hear petrol prices are still going up... The price at my local pump was 130.9, went up to 131.9 before the chancellor took his 1p off the fuel, went back down to 130.9, fell to 128.9 and is now at 132.9. Good to see the fuel prices stable! Although diesel does last longer I do have sympathy for diesel car drivers as it lies around 140.9 and this is in the city; goodness knows about the countryside.
The plan for this week is to keep job hunting, keep photographing and keep my head to the ground looking out for any possible opportuinties as they come along. Thank you for reading this blog.
More later? Maybe, just maybe.
